New Stokey restaurant in bid to become a neighbourhood hub

Restauranteurs Will Beckett and Huw Gott are returning to their old stomping ground to open a Foxlow restaurant in Stoke Newington in early April.

The pair, who launched the first Foxlow in Clerkenwell in 2013, used to live in a small flat in Stoke Newington and have had their sights set on opening a restaurant in Stokey ever since.

And they’re determined to make it a neighbourhood hub.

The restaurant will employ a staff of around 30 and there are plenty of job opportunities up for grabs there.

Will said: “We’ve always loved the idea of opening something on Church Street, which is one of the great neighbourhood streets in London.  We hope we’ve found just the right thing; when Homa came up we knew it was for us.  The restaurant is in a beautiful building and we think it’s the nicest spot on the street. We think we can do something there that the locals will be really proud of.”

The interior of the 100 cover restaurant is being created by Macaulay Sinclair who designed the Clerkenwell restaurant along with Huw.

Richard Turner and Lewis Hannaford will oversee the menu, which will feature the signature slow-smoked and charcoal-grilled dishes, along with lots of lighter, healthier things. Foxlow in Stoke Newington will also serve their legendary brunch (Moroccan Eggs with Sobrasada Toast, Fried Chicken & Eggs with Croissant Waffles and Avocado, Chilli & Lime on Toast) and Sunday Roast Longhorn Beef.

There’ll be a big effort to attract families during the day and Foxlow has pledged great discounts for those holding a StokeyParents Family Card.
