We’re collecting new toys and food for Hackney’s poorest families this winter.
For the sixth year running our sister company the Local Buyers Club in partnership with Location Location estate agency has teamed up with the Ivy Street Family Centre to distribute the toys via an incredible network of social workers, schools, children's centres, hostels, refuges and food banks.
More than 1,700 children in Hackney live in temporary accommodation. Hackney has the third highest rate of child poverty in the country, followed closely by Islington.
By working directly with trusted agencies, we’re able to ensure the toys we collect go to East London’s poorest children.
Last year we collected for more than 4,000 children. Every child in hostel or temporary accommodation received a gift. The conditions some members of our community are enduring are truly terrible: families of four in a one-room flat, damp, not enough food and often miles from their children's schools.
Please donate your gift and non-perishable food by December 7th.
If your company or school would like to support the appeal please get in touch (firstname.lastname@example.org)
